Career and Academic Plans

Career Plan:

To become a professional performing and recording guitar player and composer

​

Complete degree over next six years while finishing existing career and taking 1 course at a time each semester, rough completion in 2027.  Education plan follows requirements of degree. Completed 60 (transfer) + 28 Berklee credits to date.

​

In parallel to course work, and day job; forming a live performing band of original and cover music – started rehearsals and writing in 2021.  Waiting for pandemic to clear up.  Next steps:  Writing, learning songs, auditioning bass players.

  • Record Guitar Parts in home studio

​

• Engineering Skills – Building on previous engineering career of 30+ years

• Won Austin HAAM Corporate Battle of the Bands 2 out of 3 years with Intel 2016-2018

• Hosted Open Jam in House Band at Liquid Blues, Woodstock Illinois for 15 years 

• Played in Bands/Projects: Mulberry Stump Blues Band, Gilgamesh, Michelle Cross Band, Tall Grass Magicians, Transistor Troubadors, Overclocked

Plan to Reach Goal:

 

• Bachelor of Arts – Guitar Performance, Berklee Online – 2019 – Present, Expected 2027

• Compose, Rehearse, Record Release Studio Recording of Album

• Live Performances with Band(s)

• Network with Musicians in Austin; Chicago Area (previously lived there)

• Continue to record parts for local, remote bands, projects, self 

• Mix recordings for Projects

• Teach students, peers (informal  transition to formal with degree)

• Job experience: 

  • Senior Leader for top tier engineering companies Motorola, Google, Intel, Apple 1989 - Present

  • Corporate Battle of the Bands – Overall Winner 2017 and 2018
